Francesc Fabregas

Francesc Fabregas is currently the hot favourites to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award, after last year missed to Wayne Rooney. This season, the 19 year old Spanish midfielder has won rave reviews and accolades, with his playmaking ability in the middle of the park helping secure some critical results for the Gunners.

After the departure of Arsenal captain, Patrick Vieira, Cesc has become a vital part of Arsenal’s first team, bringing creativity and unselfishness to the Gunners’ intricate passing game. In January, 2007, he won the Premiership Player of the Month award, and was also named in the UEFA Team of The Year, one of three Premiership players to be selected, the others being Steven Gerrard and Thierry Henry.

This season, Fabregas has simply been awesome, playing his best football ever, and should win the awards hands down. Other possible challengers for the awards (being formality), may come from Micah Ricards (Man City) and Aaron Lennon (Tottenham). However, although he has signed an eight year deal (the longest ever signed in the Premiership), Arsene Wenger should be worried he might lose his valuable asset, should Arsenal failed to hold to their slim fourth placing a.k.a Champions League.

The likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona are always lurking to snatch one of hottest prospect.
