West Ham Hammered
West Ham suffered a severe blow to avoid relegation after being outclassed by Chelsea 4-1 at Upton Park. Two goals from Shaun Wright-Phillips and apiece from both Kolou and Drogba ended the Hammers hope of another major upset after already beaten Man Utd and Arsenal this season. Carlos Tevez scored West Ham’s goal in the first half.
Elsewhere, two goals from Steven Gerrard sent Liverpool back above Arsenal with a 2-0 win over Middlesbrough. The England midfielder took his tally for the season to 11 goals, netting from 25 yards before converting a penalty.
At Ewood Park, Blackburn chalked up their first win in five games and kept their dreams of UEFA Cup place alive for a second succesive year after a 3-1 win over Watford. Another lost for the Hornets this weekend would confirmed their relegation after only one season in the top flight.
