Real Madrid completed a trio of wins for the La Liga’s three title contenders by beating a sorry Athletic Bibao 4-1 at San Marnes. One of the closest ever title chase, both Barcelona and Sevilla also win which separate all three teams to within one point of each other. Barcelona still remain top with 62 points. Sevilla 61 and Real Madrid 60.

Sergio Ramos and a Ruud van Nistelrooy brace had sealed the win for Madrid before Fernando Llorente scored a late consolation for the host.

A further strike from Gutti cemented the win and ensured Fabio Capello’s men within touching distance of league leaders Barcelona with four matches to go.
