Chelsea Players Gave United Guard of Honour

Chelsea players lead by captain John Terry saluted Manchester United when the Red Devils ran out onto the pitch at Stamford Bridge as the new Premiership champion.

The Blues formed two lines and stood to applaud the visitors who did precisely the same to them when they won the title last season.

United won’t receive the trophy until its final home game against West Ham on Sunday. Even so, they have now won the title nine times in 15 seasons under Sir Alex Ferguson, who has captured a total of 20 major titles in his reign at the club.

Yeah, as for the match, it turn out as expected to be a drab 0-0 draw with both teams resting their star players. Sir Alex Ferguson already annouced that they will rest their players ahead of the final Premiership game against West Hame, while Jose Mourinho left out their several starters, probably avoiding risk of his stars being beaten by United fringe players.

What could have been the match-of-the-season-title-decider if Chelsea had won against Arsenal last week failed to materialised today with Chelsea, who created by far the most chances and were denied a number of time by United keeper Thomas Kuszczak.

Apart from seven yellow cards in a meaningless game, the FA Cup final coud expect a crunching match of England’s top two teams, eager to show that only one them are the true champion.
