Barca Feeling The Pressure
With the EPL season ends on Sunday, the centre of attention now shift to La Liga with four sides at the top still in with a shout for the league title.
Reigning champions Barcelona stumbled badly and were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Real Betis to leave the Spanish first division title race wide open with just four matches to go.
They now lie second behind Real Madrid, who beat Espanyol 4-3 in a thrilling match that saw Real trailing 1-3 at halftime, scored three times in the second half for a brilliant comeback.
That results now saw both Madrid and Barca level at 66 points but the Catalan club are behind because of their inferior head-to-head record with Real.
Barca have lost two of their last three games, going down 1-0 at Real Zaragoza and 2-0 at Villareal, and their streaky 1-0 victory over struggling Real Mallorca two weeks ago came courtesy of a last gap own goal from their former player Fernando Navarro.
They also suffered a humiliating Spanish cup semi-final exit after being thrashed 4-0 at Getafe and just for the records, already crashed out of the Champions League to finalist Liverpool at the last 16 knockout stage in February.
Meanwhile, Sevilla stay in third place, two points behind the leading pair, after beating Recreativo Huelva 2-1 on Saturday.
Valencia are also still not out of the title race and the 2002 and 2004 Spanish champions are four points behind Real after defeating Real Zaragoza 2-0.
