Beckham The Saviour Or Scapegoat?

1591473_36_281.jpgGod must be a David Beckham’s fan. Well, if you think the chances of the hard-line manager Fabio Capello going back on his decision never going to pick him again, Steve McClaren swallowing his pride recalling the former England captain and Real Madrid getting their act together in La Liga were all slim to non-existen.

With almost everything going into Beckham’s way, you can’t help to dream that David Beckham will once again be England saviour and score that ultimate freekick, or that precise cross with a man-of-the-match display against Estonia in a do-or-die game for England ’s coach Steve McClaren.

But what will happen if England lost that game? And David Beckham failed to live up to expectations. For Steve McClaren, we are almost sure that he will be sacked immediately. And David Beckham must be thankful that this time, the spotlight is on McClaren to deliver, but given how the England’s coach cocked everything up in the process, made Sven Goran Eriksson look like a genius.

Unless, David Beckham doesn’t do anything stupid, like being red carded, or score an own goal, his international career is now secured for at least until England’s last Euro qualifying game against Croatia at Wembley.

And while we salute Beckham incredible attitude and couple of great performances at Real Madrid, a winning goal against Estonia will give Beckham godlike status to England’s fans and Steve McClaren must have regretted his decision to disregard the midfielder all this while. We just have to wait and see.
