Where is he now?
Lee Sharpe
Many still remember Lee Sharpe as a predominantly left winger for Manchester United, and was a promising young player in English football, but due to injuries, he went into rapid decline at an early age.
After replacing Ralph Milne as left winger in the 1990-91 season, Sharpe played his best football ever, where he played an important part of United’s success in the European Cup Winners’ Cup. Unfortunately, he was out of the game for a long period of time due to illness and injuries, and when his fitness recovered, Ryan Giggs was the first choice left winger. Due to that, Sharpe had to play out of position at left back or right wing, competing for a place with Andrei Kanchelskis.
In 1996, he joined Leeds United before being loaned to Sampdoria in 1998. He then joined Bradford City and then Portsmouth, and had a brief spell at Exeter City before moving to Grindavik in Iceland. In 2003, he signed for Garforth Town before announcing his retirement at the age of 24.
In 2004 to 2006, Lee Sharpe was a football pundit for ESPN Star in Asia, where he joined Les Ferdinand as celebrity host on the game show ‘Kickoff’. Since then, he developed a career in reality television, such as in Celebrity Wrestling and Celebrity Love Island.
In 2007, Lee Sharpe appeared as a contestant in ITV’s Dancing On Ice. He was eliminated from the competition on 3 March.
