Sibierski & Bramble Won’t Save Wigan From Relegation

club_wiganathletic.gifPerhaps it is cruel to mention before the start of next season that Wigan will be the prime candidate to be relegated. But the facts remain the same, and without any changes to the team, much can’t be expected from the team that came whiskers away from being relegated this season.

And to Wigan’s fans, the signings of Titus Bramble and Antoine Sibierski from Newcastle United and Manchester City are not something to be excited about. More so, they even fear that with signings of these rejects, will add unstability to the team and chaos to the back four.

Titus Bramble has so far failed to show that he is worth 5 million pounds when Newcastle bought him, and at 25 years old, has little time to show that he is at the same par with other top defenders. His lack of concentration and poor reading of the game were to be blamed for Magpies poor defending and was so often ridiculed by the press.

Nevertheless, in Sibierski, they have signed a decent player, but at 32, will not be a long term investment. While he is strong and committed, and can play in either midfield or striker, Sibierski has yet to make his mark in the Premiership.

And the fans can only hope that Wigan will be doing some serious signings, if they are even thinking of playing in Europe, or just comfortable enough to fight for relegation battle, in which next season will be a lot tougher.
