Asian Cup: Korea Republic On The Verge of Elimination
Korea republic are dangerously on the verge of elimination from the Asian Cup tournament after 2-1 defeats at the hand of Bahrain, which coupled with a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia, leaves the two timed champions bottom of Group D with one match remaining.
And standing on their way are Indonesia, who will be motivated to go through the quarter finals after another co-host, Vietnam went through yesterday.
Still, for Korea, a win may not be enough to take them to the knockout stages with them also needing Saudi Arabia to beat Bahrain to progress. And the pressure for coach Pim Verbeek would be enourmous after a disappointing campaign so far.
Expect and exciting game as the Indonesians are fully prepared for this game. With players like Bambang Pamungkas and Elie Alboy, they have players with special qualities and are even well organised defensively. So far they have done well and would consider themselves unlucky to have lost to Saudi Arabia in the last match.
