Manchester United and England utility player, Alan Smith is expected to seal a 6 million pounds move to Newcastle United tommorrow after the two clubs agreed a fee.

The Magpies looks to have beaten off interest from Everton, Manchester City and Middlesbrough, will deploy Smith in a midfield role as the player has been deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford with the imminent signing of Carlos Tevez. The Red Devils have also bought Nani and Anderson which means that Smith position in either striker or midfield are further down the pecking order.

Meanwhile, Kieron Dyer is expected to become the sixth experienced player to arrive at Upton Park as Alan Curbishley attempts to build a squad that narrowly avoided relegation last season.

Dyer, 28, will cost around 6 million pounds, will be reunited with his former Newcastle teammates Craig Bellamy, Scott Parker and Lee Bowyer, with whom he had an infamous punch up on the pitch two years ago.
