Sunderland Sink Spurs In Injury Time
Sunderland and Roy Keane first game in the Premiership must be the most eagerly awaited game on the first day of the new season as the Cats struck late in injury time to win 1-0 against Tottenham.
And the hero of the day is substitute Michael Chopra as he superbly tucked away to beat Spurs when the match looked like heading for a draw.
The spotlight will also be on Roy Keane as his first day as coach in the Premiership is off to a good start while his hardworking team showed that they truly belong in the big leagues.
For Spurs, the defeat would be a crucial blow to their new season, as many pundits believed they have a team that can provide some competition to the title contenders. With ample possession, strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane were wasteful upfront but credit must also be given to Paul McShane who was particularly outstanding in Sunderland’s defence.
