Man Utd Were Just Plain Lucky Against Roma

Manchester United 1-0 victory over Roma in the Champions League was a far cry from the trashing 7-1 they did last season against the Serie A side.

And while critics prefer to focus on the six 1-0 victories in the last eight games for the Reds and the fact that they are finding it hard to score, yesterday performance may just worried fans, that they are now finding it hard to defend.

United were not at their fluent best against a Roma side who were guilty of wasting several good chances in the second half and the Red Devils had been fortunate to get the three points.

With United failed to really stamped their authority on the game, Sir Alex Ferguson would need to provide more cover for his defense especially in the Champions League. Wigan Athletic may not be a problem, but back-to-back matches against pointless Dynamp Kiev, with a performance like yesterday, Manchester United may not be that lucky.
