When all the Champions League semi-finalist choose to rest their players ahead of their second leg game, Chelsea opted to play their full squad against Manchester United and were rewarded a 2-1 win in an entertaining match.

And the toll of having to win that match, may cost them the Champions League semi-final second leg against Liverpool on Wednesday.

Not to blame Avram Grant, but the fact is that Chelsea still have a slim chance to oust the league leaders while Liverpool and Barcelona already admitted defeat in their league campaign.

But with Liverpool resting half of their squad, they will go to Stamford Bridge fresher than Chelsea in the Champions League. Although it will be tough for any team to beat Chelsea at their home ground, Rafael Benitez’s team are known to be a fighter and with Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres at their best, Liverpool might have the upper hand against Chelsea.
