Chelsea have started their summer signings before the Champions League final by beating United to the signature of the highly rated Porto right back Jose Bosingwa for £16.2 million.

Right back has proved to be a problematic for Chelsea, despite Paolo Ferriera earning a new 5 year contract. The same goes to United, who are looking for a replacement for Gary Neville, have shown interest in Micah Richards (Man City) and Daniel Alves (Sevilla), but with Chelsea already beaten them to their target signing, they will act fast to further strengthen their squad for the coming season.
